AssetBay advises Abanca on the sale of a €73 million NPL portfolio in Portugal

AssetBay has advised Abanca on the sale of a €73 million NPL portfolio in Portugal, acquired by the asset management company Servdebt.

The portfolio, named “Project Gaia”, consists of unsecured non-performing loans granted to individuals and SMEs. The scope of the transaction includes debt originated by both Abanca and its financial subsidiary, Abanca Servicios Financieros, in Portugal.

This is AssetBay’s first advisory transaction in Portugal. The team leading the deal included Sergio Núñez (CEO), Prashant Chainani (Managing Director), Pedro González-Torre (Director), Miguel Aguerri (Senior Vice President), and Carla Sanchís (Associate).
